Learning Objectives:Students will know that strike participants look to have better treatment and wages.Students will understand that the Great Depression was an extremely difficult time for the farmworkers in the the United States, specially for the Mexican migrant workers and that working conditions for migrant workers were unfair as reflected in “Esperanza Rising”.Students will understand that conditions have improved for migrant workers thanks to Cesar Chavez creation of a union for farmworkers in 1960, but that modern day farm workers are still in need of improved working conditions.
